CNN sucks
Can someone please explain to me why CNN apparently is incapable of operating microphones?
Like many Americans, I’ve been glued to the news networks much more than usual, and I had always thought (or been told, anyway), that CNN was a really together network. But the production competency I’ve seen is comparable to public access.
They have more audio problems than I’ve ever seen a news network have.
And, then there’s the little problem of them basically acting as a propaganda machine, while the rest of the world’s news outlets actually report on the balance that exists in this 9/11 situation.
In typical fashion, all they report is our side of this tragedy (candlelight “vigils”, religious services, economic difficulties, etc.), and the only time Arabs appear, it is as “Islamic fundamentalist terrorists”.
The reason why I put “vigils” in quotes in the past sentence, is that CNN erroneously reported on vigils here in New York City that were in fact anti-war demonstrations, and then they would generally follow them up with some pundit declaring that the American people are “100% behind their president”.
Of course, this contradicts their own numbers. 80-85% of Americans favor military action, by their own polls, and when you then suggest to polltakers that there could be 1,000 deaths, the number drops to 65-70%. That’s a lot of people who are most certainly not “100% behind their president”.
But really, CNN, propaganda aside (I expect you to pander to an american audience), can you guys just get your fucking microphones working?
One little non-sequitur: our president is still a dumbass; he didn’t suddenly become intelligent and capable because someone destroyed the World Trade Center and punched a hole in the pentagon.
