Puzzling marketing: McDonald’s China 24-hour delivery
McDonald’s China has fairly recently launched 24-hour delivery service in Beijing, to most parts of the city. That’s good news for those of us who need a dose of heart disease at 2:00 AM.
Here’s a portion of the flyer they’ve been stuffing under people’s apartment doors to advertise the service:

My question is: what, exactly, is going on this image?
Yes, I get the concept. Mr. Business Man is stuck at the office, working on that big pitch for the next morning. He’s hungry at midnight, and needs something to get him through the night. But what will he eat? Lucky for him, the golden arches will bring him some vittles, and they’ve even got a nifty backpack contraption that keeps the drinks cold and the food hot.
Brilliant!
Only, I look at this photo, and it troubles me. I can imagine several photos that depict the next scene in this story, and almost none of them result in that guy handing the other guy a delicious Big Mac.
Maybe it’s just me, but this photo makes my mind race with questions like…how long has he been standing there? Who let him in? Will that guy’s dismembered body fit into the food delivery backpack thing?
In fact, maybe it’s that last question the McDonald’s delivery man is pondering while he stands there observing his unsuspecting prey…
